Abbas (Mojahed) Korkori, one of the detainees sentenced to death in connection with Iran's national uprising, has been deprived of the right to make phone calls and meet with his family.

Quoting a source close to the Korkori family: "Mr. Korkori has been kept in solitary confinement in one of the cells at Shiban Prison in Ahvaz since his arrest on December 20th, 2022. Additionally, he has been deprived of contacting his family since February until now.

Abbas Korkori was detained during Iran's national uprising by the security forces of the Islamic Republic in Izeh. He has been sentenced to death on false charges of involvement in the murder of Kian Pirfalak, an 9-year-old child killed by the Islamic Republic, an accusation repeatedly refuted by the Pirfalak family.

Abbas Korkori's death sentence was previously confirmed by Branch 32 of the Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic and sent to the Execution of Sentences Unit in Izeh.

A request for a retrial for Abbas Korkori has been filed in the Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic in recent days.
