On Monday, January 20, 2024, retired educators staged a protest in front of the Ministry of Education in Tehran. The demonstrators expressed their dissatisfaction over the non-payment of 60% of their retirement bonuses, which have remained unpaid for more than fifteen months.
The protesters, many of whom rely on these bonuses to manage their financial needs, demanded immediate action and accountability from the government to resolve the prolonged delay.
