27-year-old architecture student Armin Nourmohammadi, arrested in April 2024, has been sentenced to death by Branch 15 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Abolqasem Salavati, on the charge of “moharebeh” (Waging War against God).

His father says the death sentence has been issued and the case has been sent to the Supreme Court for final review. The family is now waiting for a hearing date.

According to published information, the charge relates to alleged involvement in partially setting fire to a Bank Sepah ATM in Islamshahr. His family says they have already paid 184 million tomans in damages.

Still, the issuance of a death sentence in this case has raised serious concerns about his fate.
