BABAK SHAHBAZI EXECUTED ON CHARGES OF SPYING FOR ISRAEL

Mizan News Agency, affiliated with the judiciary of the Islamic Republic, announced that the execution of Babak Shahbazi, accused of spying for Israel, was carried out.

According to this news agency, Mr. Shahbazi was hanged after being charged with intelligence and security cooperation with Israel and sharing information with individuals connected to that country. His sentence was carried out following judicial proceedings and confirmation by the Supreme Court.

His death sentence had previously been issued by Abolqasem Salavati, head of Branch 15 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court, and later upheld by the Supreme Court in July of the same year.
