Reza Mohammadhosseini, a monarchist political prisoner currently held in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, has had his prison sentence reduced to 5 years following a successful appeal.

He was originally arrested at his private residence and later sentenced by Branch 36 of the Tehran Appeals Court to 14 years and 6 months in prison. The charges against him included “membership in anti-regime groups,” “collusion to commit crimes against national security,” “propaganda against the Islamic Republic,” and “disobedience to officers.”

After the Supreme Court accepted his request for retrial, his case was referred to Branch 21 of the Tehran Appeals Court, which ultimately led to a significant reduction in his sentence.
