MAHDI LAVASANI, A FOOTBALL COACH IN TEHRAN'S NARMAK NEIGHBORHOOD, WAS KILLED BY THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC

According to reports, Mahdi Lavasani, a 35-year-old youth football coach from Tehran, was killed on Thursday evening, January 8th, during the national uprising in Narmak (Dardasht neighborhood), after being shot directly with live ammunition by Islamic Republic forces.

Mahdi, known to those close to him as Milad, was the founder of the “Mahan Novin” football school and devoted much of his life to training children and teenagers.


After heavy gunfire by security forces, he was wounded and his family was informed while he was still alive, but he died on the way to the hospital.


His family was forced to transfer his body to Kahrizak, where agents demanded 400 million tomans in exchange for releasing his body.
