THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC EXECUTED SASAN AZADVAR

Mizan News Agency, affiliated with Iran’s judiciary, reported on Thursday, April 30, 2026, that Sasan Azadvar, a 21-year-old athlete from Isfahan who had been arrested during the January protests, has been executed.

Reports indicate that his death sentence was issued on April 20 by Branch 1 of the Isfahan Revolutionary Court, with the prosecutor claiming he had intended to attack police forces.

However, according to his family, no evidence was ever presented to support these charges. So far, no details have been made public regarding the legal proceedings or the circumstances of the execution.
