According to received reports, at least two civilians in recent weeks have lost their lives at government checkpoints in the provinces of Isfahan and Mazandaran at the hands of Basij and IRGC forces.
Reports indicate that Morteza Madadi, a resident of Shahin Shahr in Isfahan Province, was killed on March 8, 2026, after forces stationed at a Basij checkpoint opened fire. Gunshot wounds to his heart and lungs were reported as the cause of death. It is also said that his relatives have been placed under pressure and threatened for seeking justice and filing complaints.
In another case, a young man in Ramsar was stopped while driving and, after protesting the inspection of his car, was struck with an electric stun gun during the confrontation. He reportedly suffered a heart attack at the scene and died. His family has also been pressured to keep the case out of the media.
