A tragic accident occurred on the Semnan, Sorkheh route. A bus carrying students from Sorkheh’s Paramedical College, with 13 students and a driver on board, collided with a truck around 7:40 a.m. After veering off the road, the crash turned deadly.
In the accident, two young students, Narges Fathi Nejad and Zeynab Sha’ani, lost their lives, and 11 others were injured. Amir Kabir News first reported the heartbreaking deaths of the two students.
Hours after the incident, a wave of anger and grief spread among the students of Semnan University of Medical Sciences. Last night, protest gatherings were held on campus, where students lit candles and chanted slogans against university and Ministry of Science officials, criticizing the ongoing neglect of student transportation and the lack of road safety.
The student protests highlight that this tragedy is not only a deep loss for families and classmates but also exposes structural weaknesses in the student welfare and safety system.
