According to reports, Mr. Mousavi faces charges of “gathering and conspiring to commit crimes against national security” and “propaganda against the regime.” An additional charge of “insulting sacred beliefs” has also been filed, which falls under the jurisdiction of Tehran’s Provincial Criminal Court Branch 1.

A source close to Mr. Mousavi’s family said: “After 10 months of investigation in Branch 5 of Tehran’s District 33 Prosecutor’s Office, with his bail raised to 10 billion tomans, Mr. Amirhossein’s case was referred to Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court.” His lawyer, Reza Shafakhah, had previously criticized the prolonged uncertainty surrounding his client.

Mr. Mousavi, a 41-year-old Tehran resident, was arrested while traveling from Mehrabad Airport to Kish. Reports indicate that his social media account on X, under the username ‘James B Dean’, had been monitored for nearly six months, leading to his identification and arrest.

The political prisoner, who was briefly transferred to Tehran Grand Prison following the Israeli attack on Evin, was returned to Evin.
