Mohammadreza Miri, a 21-year-old worker and one of those arrested during the national uprising of January 2026, told his family in a phone call just minutes before his execution on May 3rd: “They’re taking me to be executed. I didn’t do anything. Please come save me.”

Reports indicate that Miri was executed hours later in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. Mohammadreza Miri, along with Mahdi Rasouli and Ebrahim Dolatabadi, had been sentenced to death on charges including “enmity against God” and “participation in the killing of a security officer.”

According to these reports, the executions were carried out without prior notice to the families, despite officials previously telling them the cases were still under review by the pardon commission. Legal sources have also stressed that the judicial process in these cases was marked by serious irregularities and a lack of transparency.
