Javad Alikordi, an attorney, university lecturer, and brother of the late Khosrow Alikordi, who is currently serving his sentence under electronic ankle-monitor supervision, was summoned to the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office of Mashhad and was released after several hours of interrogation.

Mr. Alikordi received a phone call this morning instructing him to appear at the judicial branch. After arriving at the prosecutor’s office, he was questioned. A source close to his family stated that the reason for the summons was Mr. Alikordi’s critical remarks following the death of his brother, Khosrow Alikordi.
Javad Alikordi had previously been released from Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad with an electronic ankle monitor. After the Court of Appeals revoked the suspension of his previous sentence, he was arrested and transferred to prison. Additionally, he was sentenced on charges of “propaganda against the state” to a monetary fine and two supplementary punishments: a travel ban and a ban on online activity. This ruling led to the enforcement of his previously suspended sentence.
Mr. Alikordi’s legal case dates back several years. He was sentenced on various security and political charges to multiple prison terms and supplementary punishments, including a ban on teaching, a ban on political activity, and a travel ban. After being granted conditional release, the sentence was suspended for three years.
Earlier, he was also sentenced to imprisonment and professional/social restrictions for managing a Telegram group, and later on he was transferred to Vakilabad Prison to serve his sentence.
Today’s summons comes while Mr. Alikordi is still serving his sentence outside prison under electronic monitoring, and his family has expressed growing concern over the continued judicial pressure he is facing.
