Koushan (Khaled) Pirzadeh, a monarchist political prisoner, cut his ear in Evin Prison due to mounting pressures and the authorities’ disregard for his legal requests—such as the right to contact his family.
According to Pirzadeh’s Instagram page, these pressures were carried out under the orders of Hedayat Farzadi, the head of Evin Prison, in retaliation for his statements, which coincided with the anniversary of Azerbaijan’s liberation and Yalda Night, where he protested the presence of separatists within the Islamic Republic’s structure.
