MASOUD ZATPARVAR, A BODYBUILDING CHAMPION, WAS KILLED BY THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC DURING THE PROTESTS IN TEHRAN

According to reports, Masoud Zatparvar, a renowned bodybuilding champion and son of veteran coach Majid Zatparvar, was killed in Tehran on January 8th, after being shot directly by government forces.

Born in August 1986 in Rasht, Masoud had a decorated bodybuilding career. He won the Asian Youth Championship in Japan in 2011 and became a world champion in 2012 and 2013. Among his top achievements were the 2012 Overall Champion title, the 2013 national team selection championship, and repeating both world and Overall titles in 2013.
Reports say his body was taken to Kahrizak after his death and was supposed to be moved to Behesht-e Zahra for burial. No official details have yet been released about the time or arrangements for his funeral.
