Execution of Majid Nikandish, a 25-year-old arrested during the national uprising

According to information received, Majid Nikandish, a 25-year-old from Quchan who was arrested during the national uprising of January 2026, was executed at Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad on September 30, 2026.

Majid was arrested on January 10, 2026, and transferred to Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. Reports indicate that he was tortured and pressured while held in solitary confinement and forced to make a confession. He was subsequently sentenced to death on charges of waging war against God, and the Supreme Court upheld the sentence.

Following his execution, an image of Majid’s will, written just hours before his execution, was published. In the note, he said goodbye to his family, asked his mother to forgive him, and spoke of his fear on the final night of his life. He wrote: “Only one question remains in my mind: Why?”
