UNCERTAINTY SURROUNDS THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF ERFAN MIRZAEI'S DEATH

According to received information, Erfan Mirzaei, born July 27, 2005, a young rapper and artist, was arrested in April 2026 at a checkpoint in Shahinshahr after being found in possession of images and videos related to the January 2026 nationwide uprising. He was subsequently transferred to Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan.
On Sunday, September 6, 2026, his family was informed that Erfan had been executed. However, information obtained by the family indicates that he died in detention as a result of torture and severe physical injuries, including fractures to his arms and legs, which led to an embolism.
Erfan Mirzaei’s body was buried in the village of Gharghan in Freidan. The precise circumstances of his death remain unclear, and a significant discrepancy persists between the official claim of “execution” and reports pointing to death under torture.
