Worsening health conditions of Khaled Pirzadeh in prison

Reports shared on social media indicate that the health of Koshan (Khaled) Pirzadeh, a monarchist political prisoner held in Evin Prison, is in a serious and deteriorating condition. He has repeatedly lost his balance and fallen face-first to the ground. Mr. Pirzadeh is experiencing symptoms including nausea, inability to move his arms and legs, and dependence on others for walking. He has reportedly lost the ability to use the bathroom independently.

Mr. Pirzadeh is also suffering from vision problems and is said to require urgent, specialized medical care, something that can only be provided through immediate hospital transfer and the granting of medical furlough.

A former bodybuilding champion, Mr. Pirzadeh, has been imprisoned in the Islamic Republic’s prisons. He has previously been denied medical treatment, gone on multiple hunger strikes, and at one point sewed his own eyelids shut in protest.
