According to official reports, 14,945 people lost their lives in traffic accidents during the first nine months of this year. This figure is nearly equivalent to the total number of fatalities from road accidents in 2016.

Additionally, over the past three years, more than 54,000 people have died in traffic accidents. In 2023/2024 alone, more than 391,000 individuals were injured in road crashes, marking a 5.9% increase compared to the same period last year.

Traffic accidents remain one of the leading causes of death in Iran. While no official report has detailed the causes of these incidents, factors such as vehicle quality, road conditions, and enforcement measures have been cited in various assessments as contributing factors.
