A 7-YEAR-OLD CHILD WAS KILLED IN HOVEYZEH, KHUZESTAN BY DIRECT GUNFIRE FROM ISLAMIC REPUBLIC FORCES

Zolfaghar Sharifi, a 7-year-old boy from the village of "Beyt-e Kavar” in Hoveyzeh County, Khuzestan, was killed after Islamic Republic forces fired directly at his family’s car. His sister was also seriously injured in the attack.

According to local and human rights sources, forces stationed at a newly established checkpoint opened fire on the Sharifi family’s vehicle without any prior warning. The shooting killed Mr. Zolfaghar instantly and left his sister with severe injuries.
Following the incident, government forces surrounded the area and warned the Sharifi family not to speak to the media or human rights organizations.
