According to reports, Mizan News, affiliated with the Judiciary, announced at dawn on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the execution of Abolfazl Sepahi Badjani and Amirhossein Safari Hosseinabadi, two protesters arrested during the January 2026 nationwide uprising in Isfahan.
The two men were among those sentenced in the so-called “Ali Khani Square case.” Erfan Esfandiari and Gol-Mohammad Mohammadi had previously been executed in the same case, bringing the total number of executions in this case to four.
Reports indicate that Fars News initially reported the execution of three protesters in the early hours, but shortly afterward edited its report to state that two prisoners had been executed.
