Ahmadreza Jalali has been transferred to Evin prison

Ahmadreza Jalali, a dual-national political prisoner sentenced to death, was transferred to Evin Prison.

His wife, Vida Mehrannia, shared the news on social media: “After three months of disappearance that caused deep fear and worry for our family, Mr. Ahmadreza Jalali has been transferred to Evin. Our demand remains clear: he must be released immediately and allowed to return home.”

Reports indicate that for the past three months, his whereabouts were unknown, leaving his family in total uncertainty. Mehrannia had previously said that they had received no contact or information about his condition.

Mr. Jalali, a Sweden-based doctor and researcher, was arrested by Iranian security forces and sentenced to death on charges of “espionage.” The Supreme Court upheld the sentence, then-judiciary spokesperson Zabihollah Khodaian confirmed that Jalali’s death sentence was final.
