Announcing alarming statistics of the state of the environment
Dariush Gol'alizadeh, head of the National Center for Air and Climate Change at the Environmental Protection Organization, disclosed alarming statistics.
According to evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Health across thirty-three cities in the past year, over sixty thousand lives were lost due to air pollution. Additionally, the financial toll resulting from this issue is estimated to be nearly 12 billion dollars.
According to this report, Tehran alone has experienced over six thousand deaths due to air pollution, with damages amounting to three billion dollars.
