The prosecutor of Urmia announced the arrest of 20 citizens in West Azerbaijan Province, claiming that they had been in contact with the government of Israel. According to him, the detainees are accused of sending information such as the locations of military, law enforcement, and security facilities.
At the same time, the Public Security Police of Faraja announced that two other citizens had been arrested on charges of espionage. The report claimed that these individuals had been sending the geographical locations of important sites and intended targets to Israeli intelligence services.
In part of these reports, it was also stated without further details that “11 other individuals were neutralized” during the operation.
