Amirhossein Mousavi, a Tehran resident, remains in legal limbo eight months after his arrest, with his case stalled at the Security Prosecutor’s Office.

His lawyer, Reza Shafakhah, has stated that neither bail for his client’s release is being accepted, nor is he allowed access to the case as Mr. Mousavi’s chosen attorney, nor has the file been sent to the Revolutionary Court. He added, “Apparently, they’re upset because we revealed that Mr. Amirhossein is the same ‘James B. Dean, their plan was ruined.”
Mr. Mousavi, who was earlier transferred from Evin Prison to the Greater Tehran Prison following Israel’s attack on Evin, was returned to Evin on August 7 of this year. He had been arrested at Mehrabad Airport while traveling to Kish. According to his lawyer, his account on the social platform X had been monitored for about six months, leading to his identification and arrest.
So far, no clear information has been released regarding the reasons for his detention or the charges against him. Mousavi, around 41 years old, was active on X with an account “James B. Dean” prior to his arrest.
