Mizan News Agency, affiliated with the Islamic Republic’s judiciary, reported on Saturday, May 2nd, that two Kurdish political prisoners, Yaghoub Karimpour and Naser Bekrzadeh, have been executed on charges of “intelligence cooperation and espionage for Israel and the Mossad.”
According to reports, the state outlet claimed the two had sent sensitive information, including personal data and details of certain key locations, to Mossad. However, no independent evidence has been presented to support these accusations.
This comes despite earlier warnings from human rights groups about their situation, including reports that they had been transferred to undisclosed locations. So far, no details have been released regarding the legal process or how the sentences were carried out.
