Mehdi Nouri has been subjected to flogging

According to shared reports, the inhumane flogging sentence issued against Mehdi Nouri, known as Araz Irani, a pro-monarchy political prisoner, has been carried out in Ardabil Prison.

Mr. Nouri was previously arrested for raising the national flag bearing the Lion and Sun emblem and displaying images of the late Pahlavi monarchs in public.

Since his arrest, three separate cases have been opened against him. One of these was filed following a complaint by Hassan Ameli, the representative of the Supreme Leader in Ardabil.

Based on the issued verdicts, Mehdi Nouri has been sentenced to prison, flogging, and fines in two cases, and a new case has recently been opened against him on charges of spreading public unrest.
