Mehdi Nouri is currently detained inArdabil central prison

Mehdi Nouri, a monarchist activist known by the alias Araz Irani—previously seen raising the Lion and Sun flag and carrying images of the Pahlavi family in the streets of Iran—is currently detained in Ward 7 of Ardabil Central Prison.

According to received reports, Mr. Nouri has been denied access to a lawyer of his choice. Security forces are reportedly subjecting him to increasing psychological pressure in an attempt to coerce him into signing a letter of repentance—a demand he has so far firmly refused.
