Parole request for Mashallah Karami denied

The Alborz Province Court of Appeals has denied the request for the conditional release of Mashallah Karami, father of the late Mohammad Mehdi Karami.

After the consolidation of his sentences, Mr. Karami was given three years and seven months in prison. In earlier, separate cases, he had been sentenced to more than five years in prison and the confiscation of assets on charges including money laundering, assembly and collusion, and propaganda against the state.

Mr. Karami, a bereaved father seeking justice, was arrested and held in quarantine for three months before being transferred to Ward 15 of Karaj Central Prison. His son, Mohammad Mehdi Karami, was executed along with Seyed Mohammad Hosseini (Kian).
