A group of Social Security and retired teachers gathered outside the Social Security Organization in Tehran to protest their living conditions and officials’ disregard for their demands.
The strike by workers at Varda Zartak entered its second day. The walkout at one of Kovar County’s largest industrial plants reflects months of unanswered demands and deep frustration among workers.
According to reports, after months of letters, formal requests, and fruitless follow-ups, employees say striking was the only option left to make their voices heard. Workers say living conditions and the continued disregard for their labor demands have reached a breaking point.
Workers at the Rad Steel Factory in Hamedan went on strike after the gas company cut off the plant’s gas supply.
According to local sources, the shutdown came as temperatures dropped to around –6°C. Workers say the move has disrupted production and put their jobs, livelihoods, and job security directly at risk.
Groups of Social Security worker retirees held coordinated protests in Shush, Karkheh, Haft-Tappeh, Kermanshah, Rasht, and several other cities, protesting harsh living conditions and the authorities’ failure to address their demands.
A group of municipal sanitation workers in Dezful held a protest over living hardships, low wages, and lack of job security, demanding immediate action from authorities.
A group of steel industry retirees held a protest in Isfahan over worsening living conditions and officials’ failure to address their demands.
According to reports, protesters called for urgent action on their economic hardships and stressed that retirees’ voices will not be silenced.
