Despite the closure of the main roads leading to the gathering site, the arrival of South Pars contract workers to today’s protest continued slowly but steadily. The workers were supposed to gather in front of the Asaluyeh governor’s office, but due to the blocked routes, the main core of the protest has now formed at Mohammad Rasoolollah Square.

According to local sources, security forces, in an effort to prevent the formation of a unified gathering, have not only blocked the entry routes but also placed Mohammad Rasoolollah Square under control. This action caused groups of workers to form simultaneous gatherings at two other locations in the city: Municipality Square and Asaluyeh Three-Way Junction.

Despite the entry routes to the gathering site being blocked, more than 5,000 contract workers of South Pars arrived with a delay but with firm determination and gathered from 9 A.M. in Soleimani Square in Asaluyeh, forming one of the largest protest assemblies in Iran’s oil industry in recent years.
