Publication of new names of victims of the crackdown on the Iranian national uprising

Based on received information, more than two months after the bloody suppression of the January 8th and 9th protests during the Iranian national uprising, new names and accounts of those killed during those days continue to emerge. Reports indicate that repeated internet shutdowns, threats against families by security institutions, and pressure to remain silent have delayed the publication of many of these accounts.

Among the newly reported names is Aria Azarhooshang, an artificial intelligence specialist and a member of Iran’s National Elites Foundation, who was arrested after participating in the protests and whose family was later summoned to receive his body. Yalda Mohammadhani, a 16-year-old teenager, was also shot and killed in Fardis, Karaj.

Raheleh Sherafati Moghaddam, a mother of two in Mashhad, was struck by two bullets and, due to hospitals being considered unsafe, struggled with her injuries at home for three days before losing her life. Yasmin Sahneh, 22, in Aq Qala, and Fatemeh (Luna) Kermaninejad, a 23-year-old sports coach in Mashhad, were also among the victims of the crackdown.

Among those killed are names such as Milad Moazemi Goodarzi, an army commando, Farhad Amani in Tehran, Saeed Siavashi in Rasht, Mehdi Zabihi in Saveh, and Sahar Fard, an athlete and coach in several sports. Hediyeh Khedri, a 17-year-old teenager, died after being arrested, and Shahrokh Homayouni, a 14-year-old teenager, died after weeks in a coma.

Reports also mention the killing of Ahmadreza and Amirhossein Feyzi, two teenage brothers in Fardis, Karaj, who were shot and killed by government forces on the evening of February 28th after expressing joy over the news of Ali Khamenei’s death.

Local sources say that despite weeks having passed since these events, many families have remained silent about the deaths of their loved ones out of fear of security pressures, and it is likely that more names of victims of the Iranian national uprising will emerge in the coming months.
