Several Iranian Muslim women, on the eve of the anniversary of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi's passing, are urging people to stand against the oppression of the Islamic Republic government. These women refer to the Ashura ceremony, which commemorates the martyrdom of the third Shia Imam, Hussein, and they state that Hussein fought for freedom. The Islamic Republic has lost its legitimacy even among religious circles in Iran.
