According to reports, Qasem Vakili, an off-road racing champion and one of the protesting citizens of Qazvin province, was killed during the crackdown on the national uprising after being shot directly in the head by Islamic Republic forces.

Qasem Vakili was about 40 years old and the father of a young daughter. Those close to him describe him as honorable, kind, and deeply responsible. He was actively involved in humanitarian work and had devoted himself to helping victims of the Kermanshah earthquake.

The killing of Qasem Vakili, an athlete who dedicated his life to helping others, once again shows that repression in Iran knows no boundaries and targets even the most decent of citizens.
