Zartosht Ahmadi Ragheb, a political prisoner held at Karaj Central Prison, was transferred to solitary confinement as a punitive measure. This transfer followed his protest against the restrictions and pressures imposed on political prisoners.

According to sources close to his family, Ahmadi Ragheb’s protest was in response to a series of recent actions by prison authorities, including forced outdoor exercise at inappropriate times, repeated phone disconnections, and severe limitations on political prisoners’ contact with their families.
Reports indicate that the ability to make phone calls in Ward 15 has been drastically reduced, and prisoners in this section are allowed limited contact with their families only three days a week. This situation has caused concern among families and heightened tensions among inmates. Some prisoners said that forced outdoor exercise adds “extra pressure.”
Ahmadi Ragheb had previously been transferred from Qezel Hesar Prison to Karaj Central Prison by order of the Karaj prosecutor and prison authorities to serve the remaining eight months of his sentence.
