According to received reports, the death sentence of Mohammad Abbasi, a protester arrested in Malard, along with a 25-year prison sentence for his daughter Fatemeh Abbasi, has been upheld by Iran’s Supreme Court. The two political prisoners are currently being held in Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj and Evin Prison in Tehran.
Reports indicate that the father and daughter were subjected to severe pressure and torture during interrogation, and that throughout all stages of their legal process, including interrogation, investigation, trial, and appeal, they were denied access to legal representation.
It is also reported that their case was referred to Branch 39 of the Supreme Court, which allegedly refused to accept lawyers in the proceedings. The initial verdict was issued by Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Abolghasem Salavati.
The two were arrested during the January 2026 nationwide uprising, and so far, no further details about the legal process have been made public.
