Amirhossein Mousavi, a political prisoner held in Evin and formerly active on X (Twitter) under the username “James B Dean,” has issued a message from prison responding to a 20:30 news segment aired against him. He called the accusations in the report “completely false and distorted.”

Mr. Mousavi stated that his televised confession was recorded under pressure and threats from interrogators after 148 days in solitary confinement, and that his words were “heavily edited and twisted.”
He stressed that he has no connection to Mossad or any foreign entity, describing himself as merely a critical and freedom-seeking citizen.
“All my chats on social media were with ordinary users,” he wrote, “and I never shared any security information with anyone.”
Mr. Mousavi called the state TV report an attempt to “invent a fake spy” to cover up the regime’s failure to catch real ones.
“The whole point of this report,” he wrote, “is to make the audience believe 'The Unknown soldiers of Imam Zaman’ caught a Mossad spy after the 12-day war, while I’ve been sitting in prison for nearly a year without trial.”
He added that since his arrest, he has remained silent and avoided media activity so his case could be handled calmly. But now, “before any court hearing, the government is trying to turn me from a defendant into a convict through this report.”
Invoking press law, Mr. Mousavi demanded that the state broadcaster give him an equal right of reply on the same program.
“I am a son of this land,” he wrote. “I have never betrayed my country. Today, all I ask is for people to feel my pain between these words.”
Mr. Mousavi, a 41-year-old Tehran resident, was arrested while traveling from Mehrabad Airport to Kish Island.
