According to received reports, Arman Bagheri, 32, was shot dead on an evening in January in eastern Tehran’s Hengam neighborhood during Iran’s national uprising, after being directly targeted by Islamic Republic security forces.

Arman was from the Niavaran area near Darabad. His parents are originally from Damghan. Reports indicate that he was hit by multiple bullets.

Sources say security agencies demanded two billion tomans from the family in exchange for releasing his body. The elderly family could not afford such a sum. Arman’s body was reportedly handed over under pressure, and the family was forced to bury him under a false, regime-imposed label, contrary to the truth.

Those close to Arman say his family endured weeks of threats and intimidation and were forced into silence. Now, his mother has spoken out, saying she does not want her son’s voice to be silenced.
