According to reports, Hooman Shayani, a political detainee arrested by security forces in late December 2025, is still being held in legal limbo after more than five months in Nourabad Mamasani Prison.
Reports indicate that he faces charges including “enmity against God (Moharebeh) through acting against national security” and “propaganda against the regime.” Despite months in detention, no trial has been held for his case.On June 10, 2026, Hooman Shayani began a hunger strike in protest against his prolonged uncertainty, the lack of judicial proceedings, and the authorities’ failure to clarify his legal status.
Sources close to his family say that his continued detention without trial has raised serious concerns about his physical condition and his fate as a political prisoner.
