Manochehr Bakhtiari, has been upheld by the Sixth Branch of the Appeals Court of Qazvin Province.

The six-month sentence of Manouchehr Bakhtiari, the father of the late Pouya Bakhtiari and a pro-monarchy-political prisoner, has been upheld by the Sixth Branch of the Appeals Court of Qazvin Province.

Manouchehr Bakhtiari was sentenced to six months in prison on the charge of 'insulting the leadership' by the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Qazvin on November 1st of the current year.

Sara Abbasi, the wife of Manouchehr Bakhtiari, also shared on her Instagram page the unfortunate state of his physical health and his deprivation of the right to medical treatment.

Manouchehr Bakhtiari was arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic in his private residence in Tehran on April 29th, 2021, and was sentenced to three years and six months in prison, two years and six months in exile, and two years of travel ban.

The father of the late Pouya Bakhtiari, in another case opened against him in prison by the judiciary, was also sentenced by the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Karaj, presided over by Seyed Musa Asif Alhosseini, to eighteen years in prison and seventy-four lashes.

The charges brought against him in this new case include 'gathering and collusion to commit crimes against national security,' 'forming and managing a group on the internet to disrupt national security,' 'spreading lies,' 'anti-regime propaganda,' and 'disturbing public opinion, and collaborating with anti-regime groups.
