The arrest of several protesting truck drivers

Kamran Mirhaji, the prosecutor of Shiraz, announced the arrest of several protesting truck drivers involved in the nationwide strike, accusing them of deliberate and organized disruption of the country’s transportation system.

He reported that recently some individuals have attacked loaded trucks on the roads. He added that security and law enforcement agencies have identified and arrested those blocking truck movements both online and on the highways, and they will face legal action.

The widespread truck drivers’ strike, fueled by economic hardships, fuel shortages, rising insurance costs, low freight rates, and expensive toll fees, continues to ripple across various parts of Iran.
