The large-scale truckers’ strike

The large-scale truckers’ strike that began has now extended into its second day, spreading to at least 25 cities across Iran. Drivers from cities including Tehran, Tabriz, Bandar Abbas, Fasa, and many more have halted cargo operations in protest against harsh economic conditions and the government’s ongoing neglect of their demands.

The strike has disrupted loading and transportation operations in cities such as Tehran, Arak, Eslamabad-e Gharb, Baft, Golpayegan, Genu, Asadabad, Isfahan, Kazeroon, Najafabad, Divandarreh, Dareh Shahr, Izeh, Yazdanshahr, Sirjan, Zanjan, Shamsabad, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Sanandaj, Shiraz, Qazvin, and Kerman—causing significant interruptions in the country’s supply chain.
